A number of high profile case studies including BP, Toyota, and Eurostar have acted as a stark reminder of how quickly reputations can unravel in a crisis. Reputation management is at the core of Blue Rubicon’s business and so naturally we have a team of crisis specialists who not only provide dedicated support in the event of a crisis but who are also highly experienced crisis trainers able to ensure that your organization is fully prepared to manage the unexpected.
With one of the UK’s leading crisis practices, Blue Rubicon provides advice and training to several of the FTSE top 20 and other leading global organizations working across a wide range of sectors from FMCG, Pharma, Travel, Legal, Banking, Construction, Manufacturing through to Energy. The UK based team operates around the world.
We have a three phase approach to crisis management, namely Plan, Handle, Recover. The Plan phase involves helping organizations to meet best practice standards in crisis preparedness. This can involve everything from carrying out crisis preparedness audits at local and global levels, crisis manual reviews, revisions and drafting right the way through to providing a range of training and exercise packages from small crisis induction workshops through to global scale crisis simulations which can involve several countries at any one time. Other training which forms part of the crisis offering includes: crisis media training, online crisis management training, Relative Response and Family Liaison training.
We understand that in order to respond effectively to a crisis, getting the operational response right is just the start. Coordinating this with HR, HSE, IR, and both online and mainstream communications within the organization is vital to managing external perceptions of how it is handling a situation which, by its nature, is beyond normal management control. This brings us on to the Handle phase. Our team is on standby 24/7/365 to help support organizations who are either already in crisis or who believe a crisis may be imminent. We work closely with the Crisis Management and Communications teams to minimize impact and safeguard reputations. Which leads us on to the last phase, Recover. Over the years Blue Rubicon has been approached by a number of high profile companies with poor public perceptions to reinvigorate their brand. Within other sections of this website you will see some of those success stories.
