At Blue Rubicon we value people who are broad minded with diverse experience and skills. We have recruited a talented team drawn from:
Our flat, matrix structure is unique in our industry and enables people at all levels to work with our directors and partners and benefit from their experience. We sit in an open plan office and regularly move desks to build a supportive, politics-free working environment.
A thirst for knowledge is at the heart of our culture. We’re restless about delivering exceptional results to clients and constantly look outside our industry for ideas to help us be creative and challenge the status quo.
Some of the ways in which we develop and share knowledge:
We have created an intellectually stimulating place to work, and somewhere people can genuinely innovate to have a direct impact on the direction and success of the agency.
We are one of the few agencies where genuinely flexible working is a reality at every level: we provide the technology and support for people to work part time or from home. We have found innovative and flexible ways to reward people and celebrate success – and we organise and support a wide variety of social events outside work.
In addition, not-for-profit activity is hugely important to our people who independently raised in excess of £10,000 for charity between 2010/11. As a company, we give a day of everyone’s time annually to support a charity. Activity ranges from volunteering to fundraising or providing communications support and strategy, depending on what people feel motivated to do.
All of this is reflected in our excellent staff retention rates. We’re proud of the fact that over the past three years our churn rate has averaged just 6%. We offer a team that is accountable and rewarded for delivering exceptional results to clients.
And it’s why we are consistently in the Sunday Times best 100 small companies to work for and have twice been named best for training and development.
Training partners
We have been working with Think Productive to roll out a series of email training workshops. The workshops involve practical at-desk coaching to help us achieve an ‘inbox zero’ methodology, keeping us effortlessly productive and ahead of the game www.thinkproductive.co.uk.
We have also partnered with Rebecca Hourston (MA (Cantab), CPCC, MAC) of Move Mountains Coaching & Leadership Development to develop a unique programme, ‘Coaching-Based Leadership’ for the entire management team. This has equipped all those in a people management role with a solid grounding in coaching techniques, a better understanding of their own leadership style, and tools to communicate more inspirationally with colleagues and clients.
